Brenda lives in Casa Hogar de la Estrella and works at Colegio Estrella de la Mañana, co-founded by Together For Children a.s.b.l. in 2012. She shares her story with us.
"Hello, I am Brenda , I arrived to Casa Hogar de la Estella on 2015. I want to share how God has blessed me in this home and through Together For Children up today in 2023.
I am a believer in God, and I am grateful for all that HE has done, is doing and will do in my life. He always sees more than I can see. One of the wonderful things that God works in each of His children is our character, obedience, responsibility and commitment.
When I arrived at the House I was 20 years old, I had finished my high school and my goal was to serve in this place, study and work abroad. But as I mentioned before, God always has the best for each one of us. He blessed me to be able to study a three-year degree in Educational Sciences. He allowed me to be of help in whatever I was doing at home, they treated me like a daughter, and I had a job teaching English.
During those three years of my studies (2016-2019), I learned a lot academically, I put my knowledge into practice with children and that's how I gained experience in my career at the same time. Every day after my classes at university, I tought English to the first school graders at Colegio Estrella de la Mañana. I also took a certification in Cambridge.
At the end of my degree, I continued teaching English to first graders and supporting the administrative area of the Colegio Estrella de la Mañana. I am currently still in the administrative area with Mama Esther (founder of Colegio and Casa Estrella). I am no longer teaching classes, but I can say that it was a blessing to meet the children, and now to see them in sixth grade and to finish their primary school.
In that time and today I have grown spiritually and matured. I learned from Papa Joe (funder of Colegio and Casa Estrella) and Mama Esther to be obedient to God, to do all things for God with love, to be a productive person.
Inside the house, I spend my time, playing, talking, listening and sometimes scolding my new sisters. Each one of them is a blessing to my life. I have learned a lot from them, I have realized how great the love of God is and how wonderful it is to share it.
I have had the experience of going to places that I never imagined. I had the opportunity to go to several of the United States, and I also learn to drive at 24 years old. I have had big and small experiences but for me they are all important.
Thank you for all the support, I know that God places people to bless our lives. It is only up to us to take that blessing and value it. I also want to bless with what God has given me and continues to give me.
Jehovah God said: “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be discouraged, because I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will certainly help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness” (Isaiah 41:10).”
