2018. Extending light to drug rehabilitation center

One of Mexico’s greatest treasures and strengths is its youth. Not only because their warm and positive spirit, but also because they represent 50% of the population.

Unfortunately, they are not only expected to be the economical drive of the country, but also to transform the widespread violence and poverty situation the land suffers of.

Since 2006 there have been more than 250,000 murders reported due to the drug war. And as sad as it is, youngsters are highly exposed to drugs access whether it is for self-consumption and/or for “getting into the business”.

In hope for a better future, we supported the drug rehabilitation center Unidos con Esperanza A.C., in Tijuana, B.C. where:

  • 46 youngsters received medical and psychological treatment, individual and family counselling, housing, sport and recreational activities, as well as access to different workshops, aiming for their reincorporation to education or the workforce

  • several infrastructural projects were carried: construction of a multiple use room, renovation of toilets, and construction of lateral walls of the patio
